Preparing the Speech
The following tips
have been put together by the ForeverWed team to help you in preparing
your speech.
~You may be asking yourself why you have to
make a speech, you may be the Bestman, the Maid of Honor, A parent of the
bride or groom. You may be a little nervous about writing the
speech. Not sure what exactly to say. Think about why you were
selected to accept the honor giving the speech as a beginning point before
you have to prepare the speech.
~Leave yourself enough time before the
wedding, at least a few months, in order to come down with some ideas of
what you will say. Preplan your thoughts before giving your speech,
put these thoughts on paper.
~Decide how long you want the speech to be
before you start writing, consider how long you want to stand in front of
your friends and their family. If your the nervous type you don't
want to be standing up their for too long.
~Put together as much information as
possible on the subject of your speech, work out how you want to put
together the information. Read your speech out loud in front of a
mirror and practice what you want to say. You may find that what you
wrote and what your saying are a little different. Make the
necessary changes to ensure your speech structure flows seamlessly.
~Don't mention things that are negative
like death, illness, why someone's late, ect.
~At the end of your speech thank be sure to
thank everyone giving a speech and the bride and groom.
