It is fine for you to walk in by yourself and is actually rather dramatic looking. You don't mention whether your dad is married to your mom, to a step-mother, or is single. If he is married to your mother or a step-mother, he would follow them in when they are seated. If he is single, he should be shown to his seat before the ceremony begins by one of the ushers.
If he is no longer married to your mother, you may want to decide before the rehearsal where you want him to sit. He doesn't have to sit in the front row with your mom if they aren't married. If the ceremony will be held at a church, it is easy to assign him (and his wife if he is married) to the aisle seats in the second pew, behind your mother. If grandparents are attending, they can sit with him and your mother's parents can sit with her in the front pew.
If the ceremony is being held at another location where chairs must be set up, then you will need to fill each chair. In that case, it may be necessary to have him sit in the front row. If your mother doesn't want to sit beside him, have grandparents or siblings sit between them.
