If you are issuing the invitations for your parent's anniversary party, you can suggest that money gifts be given for a specific purpose, such as to help with the costs of an anniversary cruise. The request should be on an insert, not on the invitation.

If your parents are issuing their own invitations, however, it would be improper for them to ask for money, since the guests of honor should never mention gifts in any way or give the impression that they expect gifts.
