Hi Kelley, The first dance is the bride and groom's; then, usually the father-daughter dance and a groom-mother dance follow. However, circumstances may change this if there is no father or mother, or one or both doesn't dance. If one of the parents doesn't feel comfortable dancing, it is okay to begin with the father-daughter dance, then have the groom and his mother join in part way through the same song. This should give the photographer time to get a photo without causing prolonged stress for the non-dancer. A wedding party dance is optional and it isn't necessary for the members of the wedding party to only dance with each other. If any of them are married or engaged, they may dance with their spouse/future spouse. The maid of honor and best man may dance with each other if they wish. Use your judgement on the number of dances based on your particular circumstances. If you want to only have the bride and groom's first dance, let your DJ/band leader know and he/she will then invite others to the dance floor.
