I have selected the groom's tuxedo. The only two other men in the wedding party are the best man who is also the groom's father and my brother who will be walking me down the aisle. Should the best man's/groom's father's tux match my brother's or should they wear something different?

Hi, LIWhine--

Generally, it's nice to have all the men in the bridal party wear matching tuxes, if you decide to have them wear tuxes in the first place. Men look nice in tuxedos, and there is an attractive formality to them all wearing the same style.

There's also no traditional "difference" between the menswear for the "groom's" gentlemen vs. the "bride's", though I guess you could have them have different accessories or different boutonnieres or something if you specifically wanted to differentiate them.

Sometimes, however, the bride and/or groom like the groom's tuxedo to be different from the groomsmen, fathers, etc., just as the bride is dressed differently from her maids. At the very least, when designing the floral arrangements, I always give the groom a larger and unique boutonniere. But some couples choose for the groom to have white tie rather than black, or black tie rather than colored, etc., depending on what the groomsmen/fathers will wear. Other couples choose a different cut/style of tuxedo for the groom, but of the same color for that nice formality and harmony of appearance. One other option, depending on the style you've chosen for your groom is to have his tuxedo the same cut/style as the other men, but of a different color .

It's really up to you. Just try to choose styles/cuts/colors/accessories which , if not the same, are similar enough to keep the same general level of formality and overall style (you wouldn't want the groom in a gray cut-away and the other men in white dinner jackets, for example. Very Happy )

Best wishes to you for a wonderful wedding and lasting happiness in your marriage.
