Yes, it is appropriate to give both a shower gift and a wedding gift, unless you choose to give one expensive gift and you make it clear to the bride that you are giving only one gift. Generally, the shower gift is less expensive than the wedding gift.

| If you are unable to attend the shower, sending a gift is optional. You don't have to if you don't want to. However, if the guest of honor is a close friend or a relative, you might choose to send a gift with another guest. It is entirely up to you. |

| This is your call. Generally, you give two gifts, but all of the bridesmaids might go in together and purchase one gift if they would like. You don't have to purchase expensive gifts when you have already spent so much on the wedding. If you are invited to more than one shower, you need bring a gift to only the first one. |
