I WAS JUST CURIOUS AS TO WHETHER OR NOT THERE WAS AN AVERAGE WEDDING BUDGET TOTAL? WE HAVE ALREADY PURCHASED RINGS & THERE ARE NO OUT OF TOWN GUESTS.
I AM JUST INTERESTED IN THE BASICS AND THE AVERAGE BUDGET |

The average cost of a wedding depends on where you live and the type of wedding and reception you are planning to have. If you have the ceremony in one location and the reception in another, the cost will be higher. The type of food that you choose to serve and whether or not you serve alcohol will also affect the cost. In my area (the Northwest), a typical wedding with 100 - 150 guests usually costs $8,000 - $10,000 if only one location is used, a buffet is served, and only wine and beer are hosted. This does not include the cost of the rings or the honeymoon. Some wedding magazines give "average" costs, but it only takes a few very expensive weddings combined with the $2,000 and $3,000 ones to increase the average considerably.

| Well, I'm planning to have my wedding in a small Lutheran church around where I live (Michigan). We've already decided on a Halloween theme (and a seperate hall or a bowling alley for the reception). We've also decided not to serve alcohol because neither my fiance or I drink and my step mom is going to help me plan the wedding since she's had 3. What do you think we might be looking at spending? |
