| My girlfriend and I have been together 10 months. It has somewhat of a long distance relationship (3 hours away), but we have thrived and she is truly my best friend and the person I want to love forever. We want to get married and we have discussed and looked at everything from rings to wedding locations. Her parents seemed to have no problems before, except for the "letting go" thing, which is totally understandable. However, they have lately been telling her that she should consider dating other people to make sure she is happy. She has repeatedly told them how happy we are, and I even wrote her parents a letter(they live in another state) explaining how I care for her and how they have raised such a beautiful person. Her mother continually dreams up things about me to try and drive a wedge between us, and now her father is doing the same, but when I see them, they treat me perfect. I know that adjusting to their only daughter's new life is difficult, but they upset her every time she talks to them. It kills me to see her that upset. They continually tell her they want her to be happy, but they break her heart at the same. Any suggestions, comments, etc.??? |
