| Can anyone give me suggestions on what color and kinds of flowers I should use for my bridesmaids bouquets? I am having a Christmas wedding and the dresses are a cranberry red color and the other colors I am using are white and silver. Thanks! |

Cranberry with white and silver will be very pretty for a Christmas wedding. Your florist can give you ideas on flowers that will be readily available in December. I would suggest using white flowers with silver ribbon to offset the darker dresses. You might ask your florist if they use bouillion. It is a thin, silver wire that is stretchy. Florists loop it over the top of corsages, boutinierres, and bouquets to catch the light with the silver highlights. It is very pretty, but it is a newer product and many florists are not yet using it.
If you like the look of the Victorian silver tussy mussy (but don't like the cost), your florist can wrap the stems of the flowers in a silver paper doily. From a distance, it looks like a tussy mussy.
I'm sure everything will look lovely.

Another good way to add silver sparkle to floral arrangements is to add "floating" silver bugle beads on filament (fishing line) or wired individual rhinestones. Either you or your florist can make these quite easily.
White ribbon with silver metallic edging, or a white-with-silver lace or brocade ribbon, are also easy ways to add just a touch of silver.
You can also use twigs or other dried materials spray-painted white and sprinkled with silver "diamond-dust" glitter.
If you want to get a preview of winter-available flowers before you consult with your florist, you can look over the fine listing on-line at the 2-G Roses site.

Very best wishes to you, and happy planning!
