Fruit and Vegetable madlib
This a fun madlib game that my mom played at her
shower and then I played when I did my best friend's shower. It's a
fill in the blank or madlib game where all the answers are fruits and
vegetables.
Dear (Brides name):
I can't tell you how absolutely ________(bananas) I am over you. You
are the girl I have waited for _______ (olive) my life. With your
________ (peaches) and cream complexion, and __________(strawberry)
blond hair, you are the most beautiful gal I ever saw and the ______
(apple) of my eye. With you is the happiest I've ever _______ (bean).
________(Orange) you glad we met?
I'm sorry we ________ (cantaloupe), but I know that your father
won't __________(lettuce.)
I wish I could buy you a 10 _______ (carrot) diamond. Please
don't ever _______ (turnip) your nose at me. If you do, I will go down
to the river ______ (endive) in.
Love,
(Grooms name)
| Bubblicious!
I was at a bridal shower for one of
my good friends and her sister in laws came up with this idea. She
had to answer questions about the husband to be (questions like
does he wear boxers or briefs, what is his favorite drink, what is
his favorite food, what is his grandmothers maiden name, etc.)
For every question that she got wrong she had to chew a peeve of
bubble gum (bubble yum works best) you wouldn't believe how many
pieces she had in her mouth!! very fun to watch.
Honeymoon Tips for the Bride
For this game, only the hostess and the
Bride are in on the gag.
As the guests arrive, they are each given
a 3"x5" index card (colorful index cards are a plus for keepsake
purposes) and told to write their name on the top and some
honeymoon advice for the bride. Each guest is told that the advice
can be as silly or naughty as they want because all cards will be
placed in a box and sealed only to be read the night of the
honeymoon.
What they don't know is that the Bride
will read all of them, naming names, at the actual shower while
everyone is eating. You can imagine all the red faces! The
silliest or naughtiest honeymoon suggestion wins.
The index cards should have a hole punched
on the upper left-hand corner for later binding with a ribbon and
giving to the Bride as a keepsake
Video Questionnaire
First, make up a
list of questions to ask the groom, (favorite color,
team, date, when they met, how many bones he's
broken, etc.), making sure that the bride would have
a hard time knowing the answer.
Next, videotape the question/answering session with
the groom. At the shower, have guests take turns
asking the questions to the bride. After she
answers, play the videotape to show everyone how the
groom answered.
For every correct answer the bride gets, she
receives a Hershey's "Kiss" to place in a jar and
give to her groom. BUT, for every wrong answer, she
has to chew a piece of bubble gum and keep each one
in her mouth until the end of the game.
It's a good idea to videotape the bride at her
bridal shower. That way, the bride and groom will
always have the video to keep and cherish throughout
their marriage!

How alike are we?
A list needs to be made before the
shower of things the bride has done, places she has been, schools,
physical characteristics, etc.
At the shower have everyone stand including the bride. Start reading
the list beginning with general things first such as eye color.
Everyone who doesn't have the same color eyes as the bride sits down.
Progress on from simple to complex or unique circumstances in the
bride's life. Last person left standing is the winner.
A fun way to get to know the ride and things about her
A Year in Pictures
I put on a shower for my cousin. Her sisters put
together 12 photos the bride from different years; both with her fianc
and without.
They passed the pictures around the room and you had to guess the year
they were taken. The one with the most correct answers won. It was fun
to see the bride to be at all stages of her life
The real story
A game we did at a bridal shower was to
divide the room into groups of 5 to 6 people. The head table (less the
bride) would be a group also. then we handed each group a page filled
with questions that would be answered in story form. the first person
in the group would answer the first question, then fold her paper back
so no one could see her answer and give the paper to the second person
in her group. She/he in turn would answer the second question, fold
her answer back and pass it on the the third person. Questions would
be such as: 1. The bride's name is...2. The groom's name is...3. They
met....4. The bride's first impression of the groom was...and so on.
You can make up your own questions. While all the groups are working
on their love story of the bride, the bride has her own copy which she
totally answers by herself with the true answers. When everyone is
done, select one person from each group to read their story and at the
end, the bride reads the real story. This is quite amusing on how some
of the stories come out, especially when you don't know what the
person before you wrote. What we did was collect all the stories at
the end and put them into the bridal scrap book
