agree that it is more special if you can ask your attendants to be in the
wedding in a unique way. You can ask them either as a group if they all live
nearby, or ask them individually. Ask your maid/matron of honor first. That
way, if she is unable to be in the wedding, the others won't get their
feelings hurt when one person is "promoted" from bridesmaid to maid of honor.
Once you have your maid of honor, she can help
you ask the others if you want her to. One way to do it is to invite all of
them for coffee or lunch, then give each one a small "gift," which is actually
a note on a piece of paper asking them to be in the wedding. Small gift bags
work well for this, or you can wrap individual small boxes.
Another way to ask the people is to send each
one a rose with a card attached. Or, if chocolate is a favorite with
everyone, give them each a small box with a few pieces of candy and a note. A
Sees Candy store will have small boxes and you can choose the candy yourself.
