Wedding Ceremony - Unity Candles - Unity Candle Ceremony

I am looking for information on  the unity candle ceremony???

The unity candle ceremony signifies the joining of two families to create a new family.  The mothers usually light the side candles when they are escorted in. Then during the ceremony, usually after the vows are exchanged, the bride and groom each take the side candle that represents their family and together they light the center candle.  Traditionally, the couples then blow out the individual candles, leaving only the center one burning.  Today, however, some couples are leaving the side candles burning to signify that there are now three families, rather than focusing on just the newly created family.
