Wedding Ceremony - Unity Candles - How long do you keep a unity candle lit for?

The unity candle remains lighted during the ceremony.  After all of the guests have exited the church or ceremony location, someone should return to extinguish all of the candles that have been lighted, including candelabra if you are using them.  If you have a wedding coordinator, she can do that or if there is a church coordinator, she can do it.  If there is no coordinator, you might want to appoint a couple of close friends or family members (not someone in the wedding party) to extinguish candles, remove pew bows, replace kneeling benches, etc. - anything that needs to be done to return the church to its original condition before the wedding.
You will want to be sure that you take the unity candle with you if you purchased it, as well as taking any floral arrangements and other decorations.
