At the rehearsal dinner do the grand parents get
invited? How far does the relative line go, in
being invited to wedding rehearsal dinner?
Technically, from an etiquette stand point, only
those people who attend the rehearsal need to be
invited to the rehearsal dinner. This includes
the children (flower girl and ring bearer and
their parents), the minister and spouse, and the
wedding coordinator.
However, if its possible, its a courtesy to
include any relatives who have come from out of
town, grandparents, even if they live nearby,
and the spouses of the members of the wedding
party.
Since the groom's family traditionally pays for
the rehearsal dinner, they should have the final
say about how many people they would like to
invite, or can afford to invite.
