How to Format A Wedding Program

...................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................

Q. Could you possible give me a format for wedding programs.

A.  A program does not need to be complicated nor do you need to include every detail of the ceremony.  On the cover, list the couple's names, the date and location of the ceremony.

Inside, on the left, list the order of the service.  It can be as simple as:  Seating of the mothers, processional, presentation of the bride, introductory remarks, exchange of vows, exchange of rings, pronouncement, presentation of the couple, recessional.  Or, you can add details, including the names of the songs that will be played.

On the right side, list the members of the wedding party.  Be sure to include the names of the parents and the name of the priest.  You can also mention the relationship of the person to the couple, such as:  Flower Girl..........Morgan Jones, daughter of the groom

If you want to communicate anything to the guests, you can do that in the program as well.  For instance, if you want them to remain seated until the ushers dismiss them, say so at the bottom under the ceremony information.

If the couple wants to thank anyone who has helped with the wedding, they can do that on the back cover.  Some couples choose to place a picture of themselves on the back cover or their new address.
