Were looking at
having our photographs done by the photographer between the
ceremony and the reception. What do we have our guests do in the
meantime?
The photo session lasts a long
time - two hours or more is typical. Most guests won't wait that
long for you to arrive at the reception. I would suggest that you
do as many pictures before the ceremony as possible, such as those
of the bride and her attendants and her family and of the groom
and his attendants and family.
Then, while you are finishing the
photos, the caterer can serve beverages and hors d' oeurves to the
waiting guests. Some couples also show a short video of their
childhood photos during this time also. If you are having the
reception at a location that has pretty grounds or some other
special feature, you might suggest that the guests enjoy the
facility while they wait.
