My wedding is in 3 months and I have no clue what
I need. I have a limited
budget can you tell me where to start? Thank you.
Every wedding comes together in a different way, depending on the needs,
desires, budget and other circumstances of each couple and their
families.
Because of this, it's up to you to decide what you do or don't need,
really. However, if you break the whole planning down to basics, you
will need--
~ some place to get married
~ someone to conduct the service
~ something special to wear
~ usually, someone to "stand up" with you (maid of honor, best man as
witnesses; more attendants if you choose)
~ something special for them to wear
~ flowers or other
decorations
~ perhaps a photographer
~ perhaps recorded music or musician(s)
If you will have guests, you also will need--
~ some sort of invitations
~ some sort of refreshments
It can be relatively easy to put these details together if you start
with a fairly good idea of what you want, and you stay focused on those
goals. The confusion in planning usually comes from getting distracted
by all the possibilities and discouraged by the wedding horror stories
they hear.
You can also make planning easier if you first *prioritize* the issues
above. If the most important thing to you is to wed at a certain
location, be sure to book that first. If you value the services of a
particular photographer, find out his available dates right away. Then
go from there.
By making your plans in order of your priorities, especially when you
have such a short engagement, you make sure you get the things which are
most important to you. Then if you run out of time, or have trouble
finding some other less-important item, it won't matter as much to you
because you will have secured the most-desired parts of the wedding.
