I plan on having an early
August wedding. I want it to be blue and white...any ideas
about flowers?
Many lovely flowers will go with a blue and white color
combination. Your florist should have books of bouquets
that you can look through to get ideas. You can keep your
colors light or you might choose to use brighter contrasting
shades. Brighter colors will look particularly nice in your
photos. When choosing bouquets, you will want to consider
your height and the height of your attendants and keep the
flowers proportional. If your wedding is outdoors or is
semi-formal, a bouquet of mixed flowers and mixed colors
always looks fresh and bright.
If you like roses, you might
consider using them in shades of white, pink, lavender, or
red. For a less formal look, daisies come in several
colors, including white, pink, lavender, and yellow. If you
like purple, you might consider lisianthus, delphinium, or
larkspur. Stargazer lilies can be obtained in pink and in
white. Calla lilies now come in pink, as well as white and
yellow. One of the most popular combinations last year was
periwinkle blue gowns with hydrangeas in shades varying from
blue to lavender to mauve.
Visit with a couple of
florists before making a decision and look through their
books. It takes time to determine exactly what you like and
what style best fits your personality.
Best wishes to you,
