A. I have not heard of videos just of
religious wedding ceremonies. You can purchase videos that
explain the beliefs of different religions, but they only touch
on wedding traditions, if they are mentioned at all. You can
purchase books that contain information on the most common
religious wedding ceremonies such as Protestant, Catholic,
Jewish, and Orthodox, but I haven't seen anything that covers
other religions. You might do an on-line search by religion as
see what you find.
As for wedding planning software
for coordinators, most of us have created our own systems for
tracking information about our clients. Each of us has our own
way of processing information and every area of the country has
its own way of doing weddings. I find that many of the written
planners that are available are not totally relevant to the way
that we do weddings in my area of the country. Most ask for too
much irrelevant information and all of that wastes space.
Therefore, it has been easier to create my own system that is
geared to the types of merchants that we use and allows me to
fill in my own information for each client.
I prefer to have the basic
information for each bride on paper and in a notebook. That
way, if someone calls, I can quickly open to her section and see
a front sheet that gives the names of all of her merchants,
location, time, etc. I then have additional pages for more
detailed information, copies of contracts, and other things that
I need. As you begin doing weddings, you will work out a system
that works best for you. The benefit of a paper system is that
you can take it with you when you visit merchants. You can
quickly open to the bride's information and tell the florist,
cake baker, or caterer everything they need to know. If all of
your information is stored on the computer, you will have to
print it out to take with you.
Best wishes as you begin your new
career.
