Philippians 2

1

If you have any encouragement from being united with Christ, if any comfort from his love, if any fellowship with the Spirit, if any tenderness and compassion,

then make my joy complete by being like-minded, having the same love, being one in spirit and purpose.

3

Do nothing out of selfish ambition or vain conceit, but in humility consider others better than yourselves.

4

Each of you should look not only to your own interests, but also to the interests of others.

Your attitude should be the same as that of Christ Jesus:

Who, being in very nature^[1] God, did not consider equality with God something to be grasped,

7

but made himself nothing, taking the very nature^[2] of a servant, being made in human likeness.

8

And being found in appearance as a man, he humbled himself and became obedient to death-- even death on a cross!

9

Therefore God exalted him to the highest place and gave him the name that is above every name,

10

that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, in heaven and on earth and under the earth,

11

and every tongue confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.

12

Therefore, my dear friends, as you have always obeyed--not only in my presence, but now much more in my absence--continue to work out your salvation with fear and trembling,

Psalm 67

May God be gracious to us and bless us and make his face shine upon us, Selah

that your ways may be known on earth, your salvation among all nations.

3

May the peoples praise you, O God; may all the peoples praise you.

4

May the nations be glad and sing for joy, for you rule the peoples justly and guide the nations of the earth. Selah

5

May the peoples praise you, O God; may all the peoples praise you.

6

Then the land will yield its harvest, and God, our God, will bless us.

7

God will bless us, and all the ends of the earth will fear him.

Psalm 127

1

Psalm 127 A song of ascents. Of Solomon.

1

Unless the LORD builds the house, its builders labor in vain. Unless the LORD watches over the city, the watchmen stand guard in vain.

2

In vain you rise early and stay up late, toiling for food to eat-- for he grants sleep to^[1] those he loves.

3

Sons are a heritage from the LORD, children a reward from him.

4

Like arrows in the hands of a warrior are sons born in one's youth.

5

Blessed is the man whose quiver is full of them. They will not be put to shame when they contend with their enemies in the gate.

 

Psalm 128

1. How happy is every one of the Lord's loyal followers,² each one who keeps his commands!³

2. You⁴ will eat what you worked so hard to grow.⁵You will be happy and secure.⁶

3. Your wife will be like a fruitful vine⁷ in the inner rooms of your house;
   your children⁸ will be like olive branches, as they sit all around your table.

4. Yes indeed, the man who fears the Lord will be blessed in this way.⁹

5. May the Lord bless you¹⁰ from Zion, that you might see¹¹ Jerusalem prosper all the days of your life,

6. and that you might see¹² your grandchildren.¹³ May Israel experience peace!¹⁴
