You will need a system to keep track of
invitations and responses. You can purchase planning/record keeping books solely for
this purpose or use plain spiral notebook pages (for gift records) and a file of 3 x
5 index cards (for invitations) will do just as well. You can also find computer
programs online which are ideal for this purpose.
Your families and you should compile a guest
list with complete names, addresses, zip codes, and telephone numbers, and code them
according to the following categories:
"A" or "B" list, if using
invitation to ceremony and reception
invitation to reception only
wedding announcement only (if using)
Check the cards for complete information when
you first receive them, then categorize them and file each category alphabetically.

As responses come in, pull the
card, make the proper annotations, and place it with other confirmations.
Eventually, you'll be down to the few remaining cards for which a response is still
outstanding. |
