1-Try Silk or Dried
Flower Arrangements If you are making them yourself (you might not save any money from a
professional florist because creative time costs a lot).
2- Buy Flowers that are in season
3- Avoid Exotic Flowers
4- For Bouquets, perhaps you might like to carry a single
flower elegantly wrapped with a ribbon.
5- Ask your florist if you can use some of the arrangements
at the ceremony for the reception. For example, a large arrangement that is on the alter
steps, might be a terrific Guest book table centerpiece.
6- If you are having the reception at your home, a great
way to fill up space is to rent plants.
7- Try renting instead of purchasing candelabrums for the
wedding aisles. You can even try to rent the vases for your flower centerpieces, however,
you'll have to announce to your guests that they may take the flowers only.
8- Try using potted flowers or plants
(see our Pot of Roses Centerpiece) instead of a
hand-made arrangements.
9- Size is important to the cost of flowers. If you can
avoid very large arrangements, all the better. Try choosing a medium size bouquet.
Also, your centerpieces should not be too large, or your guests will not be able to see
across the table.
10- And of course, the best way to save money on flowers is
to limit the number of people in your wedding. Less bouquets equals less cost.
